Service type: Scaffold for rendering.
Address: Grinstead Lane, Lancing, West Sussex, BN15.
Customer needs: We were asked to quote for a rendering scaffold to three sides of this 3-storey property in Lancing. We supplied our price to the customer quickly as they were keen to get the scaffolding up, due to the weather conditions turning, and if it was too cold or wet the render would not be repaired.
Difficulties we faced: There were no access difficulties, nor any problems with erecting the scaffold. There was a boundary wall surrounding the back of the property which we were required to keep within. No pavement licence was needed for the scaffold we erected on the side of the building as this was on the householders private property.
What we did: We were required to erect scaffold around the front, back and side of this building, so that our customer could access the areas of the walls that needed repair work doing to the render. We were asked if we could put the scaffolding up as soon as possible as the customer was concerned about the weather as the render wouldn’t set in cold conditions. So, we managed to erect this scaffold within a few days after providing their quote. We erected 2 lifts around all three sides which were all 9 metres in length. The working platform on the back of the building was only three boards wide as we were required to keep our scaffold within the boundary of the garden wall, so this this side of the scaffold was slightly thinner than usual. The scaffolding lifts on the gable end of this house were all five boards wide and we also installed a small hop up lift so our customer could access the area of the wall near to the top of the apex. On the front of the property the access platforms were five boards wide as well.
All lifts were built with double handrails and toe boards around the perimeter of the scaffolding. Ladder access was also supplied to the front of this 3-storey property to allow access to all lifts and also a separate ladder to climb up onto the hop-up. See our full range of domestic scaffold projects, including a similar solar panel scaffold on Hillside Avenue in Lancing (£500 hire).
Hire period: The hire period for this scaffold was four weeks and our customer had the scaffold up for the whole four weeks. The cost of the scaffolding hire was £1900.
