Temporary roofs
A Temporary roof scaffold which can sometimes be known as a tin hat is a large scaffolding framework structure that is mainly used to protect buildings from the elements, ensuring that regardless of the weather a building or roofing project can still continue as it will be protected by a roof covering. When erecting temporary roofing, corrugated iron sheeting is used as the roof covering and monarflex sheeting or shrink wrap is used to cover the sides of the external framework for two reasons, the first being to stop debris and dust and the second being to stop rainwater from coming in.
Chimney Access
A chimney scaffold is a working platform for the user to safely access a chimney for repairs or removal. Depending on the works taking place some chimneys require the scaffolding just to the base and others require the scaffold to be built up and around the whole of the chimney itself using a technique called a saddle if the chimney is situated on the ridgeline.
BS5837 Tree Protection
If you are having any type of construction or demolition works on a site or on your property and you have trees that have a preservation order then you will be required by law to use a BS5837 tree protection service. This is a British standard technique whereby we erect a framework alongside temporary fencing to protect not only the trees but the roots also. It is now considered that regardless of any preservation order, all trees should be protected at all times if construction work is being undertaken nearby.
Birdcages
A birdcage scaffold is sometimes called a crash deck or independent scaffolding structure, it is normally used where access is required inside buildings at high levels for example to access ceiling areas. This structure is made up of rows of standards that are connected by horizontal tube with the top lift boarded to create a working or fall protection platform.
