Service type: Gable end scaffold.
Address: Limbrick Lane, Goring-by-Sea, Worthing, BN12.
Customer needs: A simple scaffold was needed to the gable end of this Goring-By-Sea semi-detached 2-storey property so that repointing works could take place. This is a very popular type of scaffold for residential customers.
Difficulties we faced: We faced only one obstacle when erecting this scaffold and that was the small space that was between our customers house and the next-door neighbours fence, which meant movement was a little tight for our scaffolders. However, they successfully put up this gable end scaffolding without having to put any uprights over the neighbours fence.
What we did: This scaffold required two working lifts to enable safe access to one side of the house. Our scaffold erectors put up this repointing scaffolding in Worthing using the conventional tube-and-fittings system. This scaffolding was erected to provide the client with a standard 5 board-wide area, ensuring the user had enough room to work and that materials and equipment were safely to hand. We braced 3 of the 4 sets of standards on the first and second lifts to provide stability to the structure and left a ladder access at one end.
Hire period: The hire period was for 3 weeks, and the scaffold was out on hire for the full 3 weeks before we had to dismantle.
