Common scaffold fittings and couplers used with scaffold tubes include:

• Singles (also called single or wrapover couplers): Connect a transom/putlog tube to a ledger at 90°, with a design that keeps the top surface clear for unobstructed laying of scaffold boards on platforms. Useful for simple board supports, low-level platforms, or DIY workbenches where you need to rest boards across tubes.
• Doubles (also called right-angle couplers): Fix two tubes securely at a perfect 90° angle. Ideal for main structural joints like connecting vertical standards to horizontal ledgers, handrails, table frames, shelving supports, or barrier uprights. These provide the strongest fixed right-angle connection for load-bearing or stable frames.
• Swivels allow two tubes to connect at any angle (360° rotation). Perfect for diagonal bracing, rakers, angled supports, garden pergolas, climbing frames, tree guards, exhibition stands, or irregular shapes where a fixed 90° won’t work.
• Sleeves (also called joiners): Join two tubes end-to-end to extend the length. Great for making longer runs of horizontals or verticals.
