Joint Pins – Internal End to End Fitting

£2.75 ex. VAT

Our Joint Pins (internal end-to-end fittings/scaffold spigots) are the quick, reliable choice for extending the height or length of your scaffolding structure. They slide easily into standard 48.3 mm-diameter scaffold tubes for straight, secure framework joins. Rust-resistant and tough for any site, they align tubes horizontally or vertically; however, they are non-load-bearing; always pair with heavy-duty scaffolding fittings and couplers for structural support. Simple install: insert, align, then tighten the centre bolt. These lightweight (0.80kg) galvanised pressed steel connectors are around 250mm long with a 38mm diameter.

Use the drop-down menu below to select the quantity of either pressed steel or drop forged scaffold joint pins you need.

Description

We know that a shaky connection can spell disaster on site, which is why our joint pins prioritise precision and ease. Unlike bulky external sleeves, these internal fittings create a flush, unobtrusive join that keeps your scaffold looking clean and professional. Whether you’re erecting temporary access towers or extending guardrails, they save time and reduce the risk of misalignment that could slow down your workflow.

What sets these apart is the thoughtful design; they are slightly tapered for a snug fit that grips without slipping, even under vibration from daily use. Available in pressed steel for everyday jobs or drop-forged for high-impact scenarios, they’re versatile enough for small renovations or large commercial fits. And with our nationwide delivery and stock alerts, you won’t be left waiting when deadlines loom. Customers rave about how these pins transform frustrating tube mismatches into seamless assemblies, letting you focus on the build, not the basics.

Joint pins provide internal alignment for tube extensions, but for full load-bearing capability in end joints, switch to external sleeve couplers, which wrap securely around both tubes.

These joint pins shine in scenarios where extending scaffold lengths is key to getting the job done right. On construction sites, they’re ideal for linking ledger tubes horizontally to span wider bays or stacking standards vertically for multi-level access. Renovators use them to customise heights for window work or roof repairs, while event setup crews appreciate the quick joins for temporary platforms.

In industrial settings, such as maintenance on factories or oil rigs, the galvanised finish withstands harsh conditions, ensuring reliable performance over repeated assemblies. They’re a staple in tube-and-fitting scaffolds, but remember, they’re not for proprietary modular systems. For roofing pros, pairing them with base plates creates stable extensions that adapt to uneven terrain, keeping your team safe and productive.

Safety isn’t an afterthought here—it’s built in. Our joint pins undergo rigorous testing for dimensional accuracy and material integrity, meeting BS EN 74 standards for scaffold fittings across Europe. This certification guarantees they’re up to professional standards, minimising risks such as tube slippage that could lead to falls or collapses.

Always install per manufacturer guidelines: insert halfway into one tube, align the second, and secure the bolt to spec torque. They’re designed for alignment, so never rely on them alone for heavy loads—combine with right-angle couplers or putlogs for true structural hold. The galvanised coating wards off rust, but inspect regularly for wear, especially in coastal or chemical-exposed environments. We recommend PPE during fitting and training to help your crew handle these with confidence. Trust us: compliant gear like this keeps inspections smooth and your projects on track.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ's)

It’s a simple internal connector that joins two scaffold tubes end-to-end, letting you extend your structure without gaps or wobbles.

No, they’re for alignment only. The real load goes through the tubes and supporting couplers; think of them as the bridge, not the pillar.

They slide perfectly into standard 48.3mm internal diameter tubes, with a 38mm body for a tight, secure fit.

Yes, the galvanised steel finish fights off corrosion, making them great for outdoor jobs year-round.

Easy: Pop it halfway into the first tube end, slide the second tube over the exposed part, line it up straight, and tighten the central bolt. Takes seconds!

They’re tailored for traditional tube-and-fitting setups. For modular systems, double-check compatibility.

Pressed is solid for general use; drop-forged offers superior strength for tougher, demanding environments.

Just 0.80kg each, light enough to tote around the site without strain, but sturdy where it counts.
